The Church Video Licence
The CCLI® The Church Video Licence™ provides legal coverage for churches to publicly show films and film scenes from hundreds of authorised studios. With a Church Video Licence you can create a more dynamic sermon message and use films for outreach and entertainment, ensuring your church is covered in the process.
The licence permits you to:
- Show film scenes during sermons to illustrate your teaching points
- Host film nights for socials and mission events
- Show films and film scenes in your youth and children’s work
- Show any film from an authorised studio/producer as often as you wish to within the licence period
- Take a voluntary collection during a film night or event
- Advertise a film night within your community (internal noticeboards, newsletters etc.)
The licence does not permit you to:
- Show illegally obtained films or film scenes
- Show videos from video-sharing websites such as YouTube without the explicit permission of the copyright owner and unless the video has been uploaded by an official source. Always check the video-sharing website terms for details
- Charge a fee for entry to a film showing or event
- Advertise or promote specific film titles externally
- Show films that you have recorded from TV
- Burn a video or film scene to another media to use in a presentation
Essential Information
This licence is available as an annual or 14-day event licence
All terms are in effect only when the licence is active. If the licence is not renewed, all rights are terminated effective on the expiration date and all copies made under the licence agreement must be destroyed.
Licence fees are based on the average number of people (aged five or above) who attend your main service or the total number attending your event. For more details, see the Terms of Agreement.

No reporting is required under the terms of this licence.
